  • Bespoke bungalow for young man with special needs - part of a larger housing scheme in Widnes, providing a wide range of starter homes and family houses.

  • Close collaboration between the family, their Occupational Therapist and the Architects, enabled a fuller understanding of the daily challenges faced.  This helped to shape the design, maximizing quality of life opportunities for the young man,  and his carer Mother, including:

  • A horizontal shower with hoist from the bed to facilitate bathing, whilst minimising physical strain on carers.

  • Concealed cylinder storage was designed into the hallway to be easily accessible for deliveries.
